In 2025, she expanded her role on the global culinary stage as a Mentor for Team Mexico at the prestigious Bocuse d’Or Competition, guiding top culinary talent in one of the world’s most respected cooking contests.
In recent years, Claudia has expanded her impact through Claudia Sandoval Productions, the creative studio through which she leads her marketing, consulting, and experiential work. Through this platform, she develops brand strategy, concept creation, and campaign direction for restaurants, hospitality groups, and global brands, bridging culinary authenticity with business growth. Her work spans brand architecture, storytelling frameworks, experiential programming, and go-to-market strategy. This includes the production and creative direction of large-scale food and wine events such as the San Diego Food and Wine Festival and the Del Mar Wine + Food Festival and the Baja Mezcal Festival.
Born in San Diego, California, to a family from Mazatlán, Sinaloa, Claudia learned to cook at a young age from her mother and grandmother. Her culinary style, a modern take on Mexican coastal cuisine, is rooted in her heritage, shaped by her cross-border upbringing, and fueled by a passion for preserving and amplifying cultural narratives. That ethos is reflected in her bestselling cookbook Claudia’s Cocina: A Taste of Mexico, which solidified her place as a leading voice in contemporary Mexican cuisine in the United States.
Her work has been featured in Forbes, People en Español, and on multiple magazine covers, and she is a frequent guest on The Drew Barrymore Show. She has also been highlighted through initiatives such as Justice for Migrant Women, reinforcing her advocacy for social equity, community empowerment, and the visibility of Latina women across industries.
Claudia is the founder of Claudia’s Cocina, a culinary consulting and catering company that has partnered with global brands including Coca-Cola, Nestlé, Kellogg’s, Disney, T-Mobile, and Tajín. Her pop-up bakery, Cochi Dorado, has earned national recognition for its inventive and culturally resonant reimagination of traditional Mexican pan dulce, with appearances across television and digital platforms.
Now marking over a decade since her MasterChef win, Claudia has far surpassed her original goal of matching her $250,000 prize. To date, she has helped raise more than $1 million for nonprofits and community-driven initiatives that create lasting, measurable impact.
She currently serves as a judge for the prestigious James Beard Broadcast Media Awards and continues to produce cross-border culinary experiences that celebrate culture, collaboration, and the power of food as a unifying force.
Splitting her life between San Diego and Tijuana, Claudia Sandoval continues to redefine what it means to be a modern culinary leader. Her work sits at the crossroads of food, media, and marketing, proving that women in the kitchen are not only chefs, but storytellers, strategists, cultural keepers, and forces of transformation. Through every dish, every campaign, and every platform she touches, Claudia reaffirms that food is not only about flavor. It is about memory, resistance, and love.
